Images From Nature by Brian Wadie
"Through the Looking Glass"
Pictures of this exhibition of photography at the Red House Museum, Christchurch, Dorset.

Designed to be of interest to both adults and targetted toward children the objective was to show the audience how the world can look different thorugh the viewfinder of a camera (the "Looking Glass")

To paraphrase Alice "How nice it would be if we could only get through into Looking Glass World! I'm sure it's got such beautiful things in it!"

When I look through the viewfinder of my camera I see a new and wonderful world.
It lets me concentrate my vision and maybe more importantly, my imagination and focus on the world as I want it to be, not necessarily as it really is.
It allows me to freeze or accelerate moments in time or capture stray fancies so that I can examine them in more detail at my leisure.
It also lets me look more closely and see those things we would never see in our normal lives.

Add to this the fact that I can then process the images further to enhance those things I want and subdue those which may block my vision and it truly is like having my own magic "Looking Glass".
